Out of hours arrangements
When the surgery is closed (see home page for our opening hours) you will need to contact BrisDoc (Bristol South Doctors Cooperative) on 0845 121 0209 if you want medical attention. You can only access this service by telephone. Please remember BriSDoc will only deal with emergency medical problems - they do not possess your medical records.
Brisdoc is based at the South Bristol Walk In Centre in Knowle West Health Park. They will only see patients after they have first spoken to them on the phone. When you ring Brisdoc, the receptionist will take a contact telephone number. A doctor will ring you back (usually within an hour, but on busy days there may be a delay). There are a number of possible outcomes
- Telephone advice can often be sufficient.
- Telephone advice plus prescription, which can be collected from the reception desk at the Knowle Walk-in Centre. (See directions and map below)
- Invitation to attend the Knowle West Health Park to be seen by the doctor. (Brisdoc use the same premises as the South Bristol Walk In Centre, but they are a separate service - see bottom of page for Walk In Centre information) | Map | Directions
- A visit. The BriSdoc doctor may choose to visit you. They will normally give you a rough indication of how long you will have to wait.
